Day 3

Great Wall and Beijing

Today's Journal

What a wonderful day we enjoyed in beautiful Beijing!!  Such a blessing that it was still

about 40 degrees (except up on the Great Wall where we froze) and it was crystal clear

with no haze from the pollution so we could see for miles.  Lily and Lacy were such

troopers climbing up very step portions of the wall.  It was really scary in some parts

with no railing and almost straight up and down.  We enjoyed a great history lesson

Eleanor our guide gave as we crept and crawled our way to the top.  Afterwards we

headed to the pearl factory for a little window shopping and even learned how pearls are

cultivated.

Traffic around here is crazy with masses of people in cars blaring their horns to signal

they’re  about to change lanes right on top of you with a pedestrian or two walking right

in the middle of the road. Yikes!!!.  Seems like a real free for all!!  We’re so thankful the

Lord is going before us keeping us safe.  Mr. Tung, our driver, is doing a splendid job of

staying calm in the chaos and we’re so thankful it’s not us behind the wheel.

We enjoyed dinner tonight in our hotel at the “Made in China” restaurant.  I’ll let the

pictures speak for themselves  - it was amazing.

We can hardly believe Lia joins us in two short days.  Thanks so much for keeping us

in prayer.  We can feel them all the way here.

Night night!!
